I understand why we escape into fantasy worlds in our own mind, and those created for our entertainment by amazing artists. I could yak for hours on how messed up our society is these days, but lasting change is always gradual. Think about the monumental social change that has occurred over just this last century, compared to the previous millennia: Black Rights, Women's Rights, Animal Rights, Gay Rights, amongst other social injustices. It's true we still have a long way to go, but it is remarkable the change that has happened in that short time when you look at the larger scope of history.

You are not alone in wanting to escape this nightmare. Many of us even resort to drugs and other mind altering substances to avoid the stresses of life. Life is suppose to be stressful at times, which is our motivation to make changes to fix those problems. We are to embrace that stress and use it to evoke lasting change. This is why we are seeing so many fantasy movies and TV shows cropping up these days, and gained such huge mass popularity, like Super Heroes and such. I am very guilty of this escapism as well (not drugs), but we should also look to what we can do to further the cause of social evolution and awareness. We are living in a era of information exchange this world has never seen before, so that has help greatly. Seek out positive transfomative ideas. There's many novels, songs, movies, and TV shows that help teach us different ways to see and deal with life and how we interact.

There has been a lot of talk about the end of the Mayan Calendar and what that means for us in these 'last days'. There's even been some of the worst apocalyptic movies made about it. The question is; does this mean the end of the world, or a dramatic transformation? Many psychically in tune people have stated it is quite clear to them this is about transformation. They feel the changes happening all around them. Look into the 11:11 phenomenon, and Indigo Children paving the way for the Crystal Children, Ranibow Children, and now Star Children for inspiring thoughts of hope: starchildren.info/ . It is clear we need to change the way we are doing things, or we are certainly headed for self destruction. Think about what those changes would look like and what we can do to create those changes.

Use your influence here on the web to help enlighten people around you and start up conversations about our social conscience. You may be surprised what you learn as well. I do not mean to tell you what to do, but I'd like to share a few ideas. Talk more about the occupation of Wall Street and other Cities around the Nation, as well as in many other parts of the World. I know it may seem dead now, but it is still quite alive and growing as it evolves. One strong message they did manage to get out there is to take your money out of large National Banks and join a Credit Union in stead. If you have not already done that take some time to make the switch.

Other issues you can discuss and figure out how to implement is 'Fair Trade' to help eradicate slavery in other Countries. It matters more than you could imagine. Horrible atrocities are being committed by large Corporations. Worse than in movies like Avatar. Many Corporation of which are based here in the States and profited by their Stock Holders. Even if you do not care about people in other parts of the world you should fear the backlash that is inevitable (911 may only be a small sample of what is to come if we do not stop taking advantage of them, just so we can have cheap TV sets).

Besides poisoning our environment at alarming rates, just planned obsolescence is a huge problem for our landfill issues. When it costs more to service a printer than to just buy a new one this is a huge problem. If we could manage to pass a law making planned obsolescence a crime, for the intentional fraud it is, that could do more for lower future landfill problems than all the recycling programs put together.

Insects may be annoying and even cripple farming productivity, but with the pesticides used for industrial farming these days it is also killing off the bee and butterfly population, which mean all life could die off within our life time if this does not change soon. See the movie The Road, or better yet the book if you dare.

Personally I can care less about the Mayan prophecy, the sun will rise on the 22nd of December as it has for tens of thousands of years. People are wigging out over something somebody wrote on a stone. Its like freaking over Nostridomis, or the Indian prophecy.

People chicken littled at Y2K...and the world still turned.

People want peace and happiness world-wide, who doesn't? But as long as humans walk the planet, they will throw rocks at each other, just as they have since they started organizing into family groups. Want true planet wide peace? The Human Species needs to be extinct. Only then will the bullets stop flying, people stop exploiting one another, stop killing one another, stop ruining the planet.

But until that glorious day happens...just keep moving at your own pace.
